The motion light on the garage clicked on, illuminating the driveway.
She grabbed her coat from the passenger seat and got out of the car. She zipped her coat around her. It wasn't cold, considering how frigid it'd been in the middle of January, but still, cold was cold to her.
The girls decided Valentines Day was the perfect day to spend inside. It wasn't like Kayla had anywhere else to be.
Cheyenne pulled the door open before Kayla rang the doorbell. Kayla has been waiting to receive a new house key for nearly a week now. "Hey," Cheyenne said, pushing her blonde pig tail off her shoulder. She wore a pink, thin strapped shirt and it was obvious she wasn't wearing a bra. When did Cheyenne wear a bra, anyway?
Kayla shook her head at her own thoughts and walked inside the house to be welcomed by the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Robin was in the kitchen with a floral ovenmit on her hand, laying the cookie sheet on the stove top to cool. "Are these homemade?" Kayla asked, making her way toward the kitchen.
Robin smiled and nodded her head, "Of course they are! But, i didn't make them, Cheyenne did." Kayla wasn't surprised. Cheyenne was always in the kitchen. During those long hours in the kitchen, she seemed to have mastered her recipe for homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Kayla looked over her shoulder to see Cheyenne come up behind her. "Did they come out alright? Did they burn?"
Robin laughed. "No, they're still a bit gooey, but that's how we like 'em!" Pulling off the ovenmits and shoving them inside a drawer, she said, "Tell me, why didn't you invite Eric over?"
Cheyenne shrugged her shoulders and pulled herself onto the island to face Robin. "I don't think it would be necessary. We've only been on one date. It's not like he's obligated to take me out on Valentines day."
Robin nodded her head and turned to Kayla, "You didn't invite Tom?" she asked.
"I did not... Plus, i don't think we need any guys over here tonight. What's wrong with just the three of us? it's always been just the three of us before..."
Cheyenne hoped off the counter to grab a cookie from the tray on the stove. She quickly pulled a napkin from nearby and threw the cookie onto it. She licked her fingers and mumbled, "Yeah, I plan on watching movies in sweatpants and eating. I don't think i want Eric to see me in sweatpants just yet." She poked the cookie once or twice to test it's temperature, Maybe it was cooler than it was just moments ago when she burned her finger. Doubtful.
"Really? You should get dressed, then. I answered the phone the other day and it just so happened to be Eric. I invited him over for you.
