- {these ideas are out of order}
- Fred comes over to the girls house, as usual, to hear giggling coming from Kayla's bedroom. He notices that Cheyenne and Robin aren't home, so he decides to investigate. He leans his ear against the bedroom door to hear Tom's voice and Kayla's laughter. He bursts threw the door, making accusations of Kayla cheating on him, which, they were never dating in the first place. But, that's just Fred. Throwing a fit like a two year, Fred tries to get to the bottom of things between Kayla and Tom.
- Fred pulls Kayla aside after hearing from Eric that she and Tom were officially together. Kayla is searching through her closet, trying to decide on an outfit to wear to dinner with Tom. Fred is trying to tell her how he feels but she keeps interrupting to ask his opinion on clothes. Fred asks, What's going on with Tom? Kayla tells him that nothing is going on at all, they are just friends. But, as Kayla has told Fred before, the first night she met Tom, as a matter of fact, she feels like she and Tom really have a connection. Fred asks her, why? Kayla doesn't hesitate to explain. When Fred asks, How do you feel about me? Kayla pauses. Also at that moment, the doorbell rings and breaks the silence. Kayla asks Fred to awnser the door. He does so, opening it for Tom and welcoming him inside the living room as he explains that Kayla is not ready yet. Fred takes this chance to ask Tom about Kayla. Tom gives him a half-assed awnser like, "Yeah, she's cool." Or whatever. Kayla comes out of her bedroom and leaves with Tom. Fred remains on the couch, silent, until Cheyenne comes home from work and sees him. "Oh, hey Fred. Kayla leave with Tom again?" Even Cheyenne knows that Tom and Kayla have been spending a lot of time together and isn't surprised when Fred nods his head, trying to hide the fact that he's a bit upset. He asks Cheyenne how her day was, not really caring and not listening as she explains while she hangs her coat in the closet and grabs a soda from the fridge. Cheyenne notices that Fred is acting stranger than usual and asks him, what is wrong? Instead of explaining, Fred asks Cheyenne if she would like to go to dinner. They follow Tom and Kayla to the restaurant, Cheyenne not having a clue until she gets to the restaurant and is seated with Fred at a table behind Tom and Kayla. Cheyenne gets mad as Fred tries to spy. She wants Fred to take her home but Fred threatens her to stay by promising to tell Eric her "secret". Fred watches Tom and Kayla sip wine and engage in typical small talk. He watches their hands closely; Tom's fidgeting with his glass and Kayla's resting on her lap. He watches their eye movement; Kayla's locked on tom's eyes and Tom's shifting from his hands to her eyes, as if he is nervous. Which makes Fred realize that Tom actually does like her. Tom pays for their meal and he leaves with Kayla. It's cold outside, typical fall weather in Philadelphia. Tom gives Kayla his jacket as they walk to the parking garage. Fred watches as Tom places his hand at the small of Kayla's back. Her face instantly glows. Cheyenne follows, arms crossed around her chest and complaining about how she wants Fred to take her home. Tom drives Kayla home. The car idling in front of her house. They sit in silence for a moment, until Kayla thanks him for dinner. He says, no problem. She brings up the idea that they should limit their time together, 'cuz their friends are beginning to jump to conclusions. Both of them unwillingly agree. It's silent again until Kayla says goodnight and gives Tom a goodnight kiss. When Kayla comes inside, Cheyenne is there and asks about her "date" with Tom. All Kayla can do is smile as she says, I bet he's a bobcat in the sac.
- Kayla is helping Tom prepare for his Valentines Day date. "Do I look okay? I just want to make sure my outfit doesn't send the wrong message to my date." Tom says. "Okay, well what message are you trying to send?" Kayla asks, helping him put on his leather jacket. "I'd like it to say, Hi, my name is Tom. I'm a fun loving yet slightly naughty guy. The little boy in me is insecure but the man in me is cocky, giving me a playful mix of humility and aloofness. I like you, let's party." "I think you're asking a bit too much from a jacket. But go have fun." Kayla says to Tom as he waves and leaves out the back door. Fred walks into the kitchen and says, "Okay, Kayla, your Valentine is here. I thought we'd start with a game of Yahtzee then move into a movie." An excited smile on his face. There is a knock at the door before Kayla can respond to Fred. "Ooo! Pizza!" Fred says, answering the door to Tom. "Oh, you're back. I hope your car's not blocking the driveway. We're expecting a pizza." Tom smiles at Fred's comment, walking back into the kitchen. "Kayla, will you go out with me on a big Valentines Day date?" He says. "What about the other girl?" "There is no other girl. I just really like you and I want to go out with you." Tom says. "Oh! I'm standing right here!" Fred says, holding out his arms. "Here, Fred. The pizza's on me." Tom hands him some cash. "Have her home by sunrise." Fred says, counting the cash.
- Tom and Kayla are making out in a darkened movie theatre. Tom stops and says, "Kayla, I've noticed you only like to make out in dark places." "What do you mean?" Kayla asks. "Yesterday, you drove me half-a-mile into the woods. I've never dated an Italian chick, but I thought i'd get whacked." Kayla laughs at Toms comment, "Tom, I'm not Italian. It's just, okay, I'm a little nervous about telling our friends about us." "Cmon, what is the worst thing that could happen if we told them?" Tom says. "Okay, lemme put it this way. Two years ago, i walked into the house and my jeans had a hole in the butt. To this day, Cheyenne calls me butt hole. Okay, let's go, Tom. I don't want to run into anybody after the movie." Tom follows Kayla out of the theatre. They don't notice Cheyenne, Eric and Fred spying on them from the top row of chairs in the theatre. "Ooo, busted!" Eric says as Tom and Kayla leave. "wow," Cheyenne says. "Unbelievable. After her husband tires to kill her baby, she stays with him? That bitch is crazy!" Fred says to the movie screen. Cheyenne and Eric shoot glances over to Fred.
- Cheyenne, Fred and Eric are in the driveway. Eric and Fred are shooting hoops and Cheyenne is sitting on the hood of her car. "I can't get over Tom and Kayla making out like that. I mean, it was all broad shoulders and hair. I couldn't tell which one was the guy." Cheyenne says, checking her freshly painted nails. "They should save all that passion for the bedroom." Fred says, tossing the ball toward the net, only for the ball to bounce off the backboard and roll under the car. Kayla and Tom walk up the driveway at this point. "Oh, hey. It's Kayla and Tom. Where have you been?" Cheyenne asks. "Oh, well, I was at the park... Where I was practicing my violin... To a family of ducks.." Kayla says for her excuse. "I was at home." Tom gives a simple, less elaborate excuse. "Really? Because we went to see a movie. But instead we saw Tom's hand feeling for Kayla's bra strap. Kayla, why didn't you just tell us that you were dating Tom?" Cheyenne says. "It's just- we're all friends and i didn't know what you would think." Kayla explains. "I'm happy for you!" Cheyenne responds. "Yeah, man. Whatever." Eric says, retrieving the ball from under the car and tossing it to Fred who says, "Tom, when you kiss Kayla, is it smooth? Like fudge? Or rough? Like a cockfight?" "Fred, that's personal! So, have you guys had sex yet?" Cheyenne says. "My money is on no." Eric takes the ball back from Fred as he says, "Well i think it's going to happen soon. Kayla only shaves her legs to her knees. But this morning, she went all the way from Miami to Jacksonville."
- "Okay, who put a sandwich in the cash register?" Eric says, at work at the photo developing center with the guys. "I did that, Eric. Sorry, man. I've been a little scatter brained lately." Jeff says. "Yeah. You know, you've been kinda acting weird. Are you sober?" Eric takes the sandwich from the register and sets it on the counter. "No." Jeff says, taking the sandwich. "So what's wrong?" Eric asks. "I met this girl, man. But i don't know what to do about it. It's been a long time since i woo'd a lady." "First off, nobody uses the phrase 'woo a lady' anymore, Jeff." Tom says, looking up from a magazine. "That's why the girl at the Hub slapped me." Fred adds. "No, man. She slapped you because you grabbed her ass and yelled, Woo, lady!" Eric says, "All right, Jeff. The problem that most guys have when they're picking up chicks is that they over think things. So, you'll be fine." "All you have to say to a lady is, come here often? if she says no, grab her ass." Fred advises. "No, look. I got an idea. pretend we are at a bar and the three of us are foxy ladies." Tom says, closing his magazine and laying it on the counter. "Ooo! i'm a recent collage graduate with big boobs and an urge to explore." Fred says, taking it a bit too far.
- Cheyenne walks into the Hub, a local diner that serves fried food and milk shakes, to see Fred and Eric sitting at their usual table in the back, near the girls bathroom. Cheyenne takes the seat across from Eric as she says, "Oh, hey Eric. I almost didn't recognize you without a stripper attached to your lips." She crosses her arms over her chest as Eric says "I noticed you right away since you walked in here alone, with no boyfriend." Cheyenne flips her hair away from her eyes, sticking her nose in the air and ignoring Eric's insult. "This sounds like fun! Now say something mean about me!" Fred says. "Nawh." Eric taps his cigarette on the ash tray in front of him. "Cmon! you never let me play!" "Fine, you're stupid and fat." Eric says, smothering his cigarette in the ashes of the crystal tray. "That was completely uncalled for." Fred sips from his milk shake. Tom and Kayla walk in at this point, not noticing their friends and walking up to the counter to place their order. "what is Kayla doing here with Tom?" Cheyenne asks. "Yeah, and yesterday when i came over to spy on her through her closet, she was already out with Tom. That bastard's cutting into my peep time." Fred says, taking another sip of his milk shake. "Do you think something is going on with Kayla and Tom?" Cheyenne says. Kayla and Tom come over to the table and take their seats. "Where have you two been?" Fred asks. "We watched Rocky II. It was awesome. This chubby guy in the audience got all inspired and then punched out an usher." Tom says. "Why didn't you invite us to the movie?" Cheyenne hints to Tom. "I invited Kayla. I won the tickets from a radio station. My cousin is a DJ, so i just called him up and told him to freeze the lines. My mom has a picture of him and his sister in the bath tub." Tom explains. "but why did you invite Kayla instead of us?" Fred asks. "Fries up for Kayla and Tom." The old man at the counter announces. "That's us." Tom says, Kayla getting up from her seat and following him to the counter. "Look at them! They are sharing fries! Somethings up. My hanky panky meter is all the way up to panky!" Fred says, watching Kayla and Tom leave the restaurant.
- In the kitchen of the girls house, Cheyenne is sitting at the table with a compact mirror and a tube of lipstick. Fred is looking through their fridge when Tom comes in through the back door. "Hey, when you guys see Kayla, can you tell her that i'll be down at the Hub?" "Do you have plans?" Cheyenne asks, closing her compact mirror and setting it in front of her on the table. "Yeah, we're going to hangout for a bit then see a movie. Cya." He says, as he walks back out the door. "Did you hear that? 'hang out'." Fred says, closing the fridge door and taking a seat at the table across from Cheyenne. "Fred, i know what to do." "yes! but where are we going to find a dog with antlers?" "What? no! we need to find out what they're doing!"
- In the living room of the girls house, later that night, Cheyenne, Eric, Fred, and Kayla are sitting on the couch. "So, Kayla, how was hanging out with Tom?" Fred asks as Kayla gets up and heads into the kitchen. "Hey, look Fred, It says in the paper that this guy got punched in the arm for sticking his nose where it didn't belong." Eric says, pretending to read said article in the newspaper. "When?" Fred asks, sounding interested. "Now!" Eric punches Fred in the arm. "So, Kayla. Is there any news you'd like to share with us?" Cheyenne asks as Kayla hands her a soda before taking her seat. "I really don't want to talk about it." "Oh. so that means there is something to talk about." "Yeah," Fred joins the conversation between the girls. "Spill it, girl." "There's nothing to spill!" Kayla leaves through the back door. "You two are idiots." Eric says, smacking Fred repeatedly with the rolled up newspaper.
