What Will I Do?

After a terrible day at work (a chaotic lunch rush, a batch of burned bread, and a plugged sink drain),  all Kayla wanted to do was relax. She'd take a shower, get into some comfy clothes, and hang out in her bedroom watching Dynasty.

But as soon as she opened the front door and kicked off her shoes, Tom appeared out of nowhere, his mouth set in a grim line. Kayla knew "relax" wasn't going to be possible.

"We need to talk," Tom said as he sauntered into the room, running his fingers over the blanket as he passed her bed.

Kayla stood there for just a second trying to calculate her chances of escape. And if she succeeded with escape, how far would she get before Tom caught up to her?

Sighing, she sat down on the bed slowly. Whatever this was, it wasn't good. This just smelled like trouble.

Tom, sitting on the edge of the bed, folded his hands, setting them on his knee. Every nerve in her body snapped and her brain yelled, run!

"Tell me," Tom said, grabbing something from his pocket, "what is this?"

The blood pooled in Kayla's cheeks when she saw what was in her boyfriend's hand.

Her lost pair of red laced panties.

Crap.

"Umm..."

If she pretend not to know, would he buy it?

"Kayla, what was this doing in Fred's apartment?"

She took a deep breath. "Tom," she began, biting her lip. "I didn't tell you that Fred and I were sort of together before i met you...i'm sorry."

He just stared at her, his teeth clenched. He knew this was coming, but still couldn't think of anything to say.
