(Story i wrote for my practice TAKS personal narritive. Earned me a 93 as a test grade and Mrs. Spitzer saying, "This would have been fantastic! If it didnt stop abruptly." hey, i couldn't think of anything else to write and i really just wanted to get this done. But, she did like my writing and she seemed excited that one student took their time on their assignment. I didn't really. If i did, i would have turned in a super story! Cuz, you've read some of the stories i take my time on. those are my favorites!)
{The prompt was: Write an essay explaining the value of the small, everyday events of life. I value my friendship with Cheyenne, so i included her in the story, along with Cinderella. I made up some dielema we'd all be in if this was actually the life we lived right now. Enjoy.}
We cooked a pot of Black Bean Chilli every Thursday. These dinners brought us together and served as a type of healing from the busy week.
Cheyenne was at the stove, her long, blonde hair pulled into pigtails to prevent it from hanging over the pot. She stirred the beans with a wooden spoon as she asked Eric, "Is there a gig this weekend?"
Eric glanced over to Tom for an answer. Tom was the vocalist-and naturally-he was in charge of most decisions. Among those decisions were the songs they included in the set and scheduling gigs at local festivals, parties, weddings or events. "We play at the Galaxy on Saturday." Tom said, covering his nose with the collar of his shirt while Robin chopped onions in front of him at the table.
"If i can get Saturday off. Holly as me working like a dog at the shop. She's still on my case about last week." Fred complained as he made his way across the kitchen to the fridge. "I have to work late because i had to pick up Puck from the vet." Glass jars clinked together on the shelves as Fred opened the door.
I smiled and said, "Sorry, Freddie. I was in school and couldn't leave."
He nodded his head and cracked open a can of Dr. Pepper.
I appreciate the favor but i can't help but feel guilty for causing the band a gig. Well, if they can't play the Galaxy on Saturday that would give us an entire day to hang out like old times. I always hope a gig would be canceled or something would come up so we can have the day together. Between school, work and gigs, we hardley have time for each other. I value the time we have together now because soon i'll be going to collage and Cheyenne will begin an appretiship at a tattoo studio and Cinderella will be a signed band with records to make, songs to write, and tours to play.
Haha I like that your school essays are about Cinderella..
