Roulette

(Haven't been in the mood to write. But, Cheyenne needs something to read so i give her this.)

"Guess what girls," Fred grinned, stepping into the kitchen where the girls were gathered around the island. "I got fudge!"
"Fudge? What a surpise. Who is it from?" Kayla counted the peices of fudge in the plastic container when Fred forced it into her hands.
Fred reached into the front pocket of his jeans and pulled out a slip of paper. "It didn't say, but there's a poem! Roses are red, Violets are blue. Fudge is sweet, here's some fudge."
"I wonder who it's from. It sounds like someone likes you!" Robin added, taking the container of fudge from Kayla's hands and setting it on the island.
"I hope it's a girl!" Fred's face seemed to glow with affection at the mention of this new crush.
The phone began to ring and Fred was the first to reach the reciever on the wall. "Hello?" Cheyenne watched Fred as he twirled his fingers around the cord. "Oh, hi Joann. Really? Well, I think it's a litle late to talk about getting back together. Turns out, I'm very desirable. So, I think this is goodbye." With that, Fred placed the phone back on the reciever and stepped away from the phone. He gave the girls one last smile and disapeared upstairs.
"Oh my god!" Kayla muttered and slams her hand down on the island.

When Kayla entered the kitchen, Fred was seated at the table with the empty container of fudge set infront of him. "Fred,"
"Too late, i finished it." Fred said, swallowing the last of the fudge.
Kayla cocked her head to the side and smiled at Fred before sitting across from him at the table.
"So, i was trying to figure out who sent me the fudge, and thought, it could be the lady at the gas station."
"Fred, i have to tell you something. Robin and I sent you the fudge." Kayla hesitated to share.
"What?"
"Well, you seemed so sad and we wanted to cheer you up. But, then we screwed up your chances of getting back together with Joann..." Kayla avoided eye contact with Fred as she said this, feeling ashamed about what she had done to her friend.
"So nobody likes me..." Fred whispered.
"We like you.."
"eh..."
"We're really sorry, Freddie."
